The Group Insurance Commission is the state agency responsible for the UniCare State Indemnity Plan design and for payment of all benefits. Funding for the Plan is provided by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. UniCare provides administrative services such as claims processing, customer service and utilization management for the Group Insurance Commission. UniCare is not the insurer of the UniCare State Indemnity Plan.
