Resources for Weight Management, Fitness & Nutrition

UniCare's personalized tools address health promotion and wellness by providing interactive tools to help you and your family live a healthier lifestyle, no matter where you are on the health continuum. On this page, we highlight some of UniCare's extensive array of online resources that were created to help you attain and maintain your weight management, fitness and nutrition goals. We invite you to explore other resources on the site that interest you.

Important: To access most of the following resources, you will first need to log into MemberAccess, UniCare's secure member portal. Once you have logged in, click on the Full Circle Health tab; then scroll down the page and click on the link for Healthy Living. This will take you to the WebMD Home page.

  • Weight Condition Center - Offers you various weight management tools, including the health calculators described below, along with access to other related resources. You can also sign up to receive free newsletters on weight control and other relevant topics, or participate in a dieting club message board. This message board can put you in touch with people who have similar goals and who can provide you with support. To access the Weight Condition Center, click on the "Condition Centers" tab at the top of the page.

  • Calculators - Includes several helpful tools, such as the Body Mass Index (BMI) calculator. Learning your BMI is the first step on the road to weight management. You'll also find the Calorie Counter, Breakfast Calculator, Fast Food Choices and Dessert Wizard to help you with your weight management goals. You'll find links to these and other tools under "Programs."

  • Health Trackers - Gives you tools to help you track your weight, exercise and diet progress. They are listed under "Health Tools." In addition, research shows that keeping a food diary is an important key to weight management. Read the article from WebMD for tips on how to make this tool work for you.

  • Eating Healthy - Provides you with tools that can help you make better meal choices. Includes access to healthy and delicious recipes, along with their nutritional facts, so you can make informed decisions about your meals.

  • Nutrition Resources - Provides a variety of resources to help you to start eating healthier, including a library of nutrition resources. You can also sign up for a nutrition newsletter. Click on the link for "Nutrition" under "Health Tools."

  • Lifetime Exercise Adherence Program (LEAP) - Helps you build a 13-week activity plan by having you fill out a fitness assessment. It also gives you access to My Personal Trainer, where you can track your physical fitness activities and progress. My Personal Trainer also helps you determine when you should push ahead and challenge yourself and when you should allow yourself a recovery period. You'll find the link for "Fitness (LEAP)" under "Health Tools."

  • HealthyExtensions - Provides you with other resources to help you maintain an exercise program, such as discounts to certain fitness clubs. You'll find this link under "Quick Links."
